The Law Office of Edmund Dollinger

Planning with confidence to protect you and those you love in New Jersey and New York
Edmund Dollinger founded his law firm in 2000 as a continuation of the 55 years he has spent helping seniors and other individuals and their loved ones make the best legal, financial and care decisions for the future. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality service and personal attention to our clients in the Hackensack, New Jersey and Tarrytown, New York areas.

We start by getting to know you and understand your unique situation and legal goals. We tailor our services to match your requirements, and we guide you throughout the legal process, from start to finish. By communicating and education you and providing you with sound counsel and caring, skilled representation, we help you make informed decisions about the care you want and deserve in case of accident, disability, illness or death. At the same time, your assets can be protected.

Working with you to secure your future
We assist you in planning for your future and the future of your family and your business:
  • Estate planning ― We can arrange for the distribution of your property according to your wishes, while minimizing gift, estate and inheritance taxes. We prepare the appropriate documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and proxies.
  • Probate ― We can represent you in probating a will, opposing probate, bringing or opposing administration when there is no will, bringing an accounting on your behalf, objecting to an accounting or compelling someone else to account, or in any other estate or trust litigation.
  • Estate administration ― If you are named in a will as an executor or are legally entitled to be appointed an administrator where there is no will, we can represent you in all steps from the opening to the closing of the estate. This will include probate of the will or granting of administration, collection of assets, payment of debts, preparation of estate or inheritance tax returns, formal or informal accountings, and distribution of the balance of the estate.
  • Elder law ― We can help protect you and your loved ones from the legal problems of aging. We prepare powers of attorney, trusts, special needs trusts or other documents to help you avoid the need for a guardian. If necessary, we can bring proceedings to appoint a guardian for a loved one or defend against an application for guardianship. We can also help to protect your assets from spending down for nursing home care.
